Feb 28th - Fashion frenzy

Today before work I decided to hit up chadstone and do a bit of shopping. Whilst I was there I checked out the sex and the city fashion exhibition. They showed some of the costumes from the sex and the city movies and it was pretty cool but it made me a bit jealous! I really wanted some of the clothing, shoes and accessories! This dress was one of my favorites. It would be fun to dress up and wear it to a party :)

Feb 27th - Booked my flights

I have the travel bug badly! I do have a love/hate relationship with airplanes though. I love the experience of being on the plane and getting meals and inflight entertainment - it just gives a exciting buzz. The adventure not only includes the destination but also the journey :) I just hate turbulence on a plane. It scares me and makes me worry the plane is going to crash :/ but apart from that it's all good :) I am very very excited because I just booked flights to India! Apart from New Zealand (which I visit a lot to see my relatives and is quite similar to Australia), I've only ever been to Japan so I'm very excited about going there :) especially since I'm traveling there on my birthday :) my friend from work invited me and I can't wait to immerse myself in the culture :)

Feb 26th - Meet Oreo

So I found out recently that my housemate wanted a pet and because we live in a rental we have to be choosy with what we get. I wasn't really very fussed whether we had a pet before or not. That being said however, the past housemate had a dog without the landlords knowledge (which we didn't know). Even though it was a pain sometimes, I did enjoy its company when I was lonely or depressed and do miss now that she has moved out. So while I was at work I received a picture of my housemate with the cutest black and white bunny which they decided to name Oreo! The name does suit it quite well. So welcome Oreo to our little household.

Feb 25th - Spoilt much?

I decided that I was going to enjoy my time off today and spoil myself by going to gold class :) I went and saw safe haven and it was quite good. I really enjoy Nicholas Sparks films and this one was no exception. It's also great getting to enjoy a movie on the big screen in recliner chairs and be brought food and drinks :) I enjoyed nachos, followed by dumplings and ended off with some spanish doughnuts with choc dipping sauce :) Mmm it was fantastic and I loved every minute, as I always do :) can't wait I'll next time

Feb 24th - Savers

Op shopping is definitely my favorite kind of shopping! And with quite cheap prices already, the words '50% off clothing sale' make things even better! Especially if you're me and you have in your hot little hands $50 worth of savers vouchers! So technically I'd be getting $100 worth of clothing for nothing :) I entered their Halloween contest in October and was one of the three winners to win $100 of savers vouchers :) yay! In the past I've won $100 of salvos vouchers - I did that in their I love salvos comp by making a dress out of I love salvos bumper stickers. It was very impressive but I was sad when someone accidentally threw it away. I had taken it to Oakleigh salvos to be displayed and someone thought it was rubbish. Sigh. Next time I'll put it up myself! Want something done right you need to do it yourself is very true! Anyways I found tons of cool stuff at savers brunswick and got some new books, dresses, a phone wallet and more!

Feb 23rd - White night

Melbourne had its first White Night festival and it was pretty fun. They had all these little events running all over the city and I convinced some of my friends to come along :) we had a great time. We visited the NGV and played with a interactive foam installation, we had drinks at Melbourne central, we got entertained by buskers and laughed a lot! We had lots of fun posing behind the water wall at the NGV (and people laughing at my housemates hilarious poses). I really needed a night out and it was a lot of fun :)

Feb 22nd - Free jewellery? Yes please

Who doesn't love free stuff? I know I do! Well I guess it depends what it is but this time it's jewellery and I'm a girl and girls & jewellery go hand in hand (well most girls anyways). I'm a mystery shopper and it's a pretty fun job you can fit around your other commitments. For those of you who don't know, mystery shopping is where you visit a store posing as a normal customer and then you report back on the service you received. Some businesses only ever want good feedback and if they don't get it? We get in trouble :/ that is not the point of mystery shopping at all.. You need the good with the bad. Whilst the good feedback is great, how can you improve without the negative feedback. Anyways rant over and check out the awesome jewellery I got :) I love the heart locket, even more awesome was that it was the last one :)

Feb 21st - I can see!

Today was pretty exciting for me! Had an optometrist appointment before work and it was to try my new contact lenses! It was pretty funny - it did take me while to get them in but I did manage it eventually and after the slight irritation went away they were pretty awesome! I felt like a new person.
I did manage to take them out first time I tried though.

Everytime I passed a mirror I didn't recognize myself or when I was out I usually adjust my glasses a few times so as force of habit my hand would fly to my face and there was nothing there.
Or like when I was trying on clothing as my current glasses are a bit damaged (the lens keeps popping out - very annoying when I'm in a change room and it falls outside and I am on the ground feeling around for it on the ground :/ ) my glasses used to either catch on the clothing or lens would fall out. No troubles now and I feel more confident too without them. Got many compliments at work and some people didn't even recognize me at first! I won't be wearing them all the time anyways but it indefinitely something I should've done a long time ago!

Feb 20th - Pub trivia and a cider to match

After an awesome maccas brekkie (got to love sausage mcmuffins!), I went and ran some errands and managed to fit in some more op shopping too - this time around Ringwood. I visited the salvos and vinnies and found some fantastic sparkly black heels! Everytime I visit a salvos lately they have had a pair but they were always slightly too small so happy to finally find a pair that fit!

Today at work was a bit of a disaster though! Two people didn't show up for their shift and it's hard enough when one doesn't, let alone when two don't which has never happened in the two years I've been working here. It was very stressful and definitely needed a drink when I got to the pub for trivia! Tried a delicious strawberry and lime cider :) will definitely be getting that again! We didn't do too badly this time - came third. We've been coming either first or second lately so better let someone else win anyways :p

We did however win a free jug in one of the mini games and our team mate won the raffle so we did pretty well!

Feb 19th - A friendly catch up

Work went pretty smoothly today which was great especially with some of the dramas we have had lately. Nice to have those days where everything goes to plan. But whoever designed our work uniform needs to be throttled!! It is black from head to toe! With these 30 degree days lately you just overheat and it sucks! Yes they are great for hiding the dirt (mostly), damn it gets hot!
I was especially looking forward to today as I was going to stay at my friends place after work. We've known each other for about 3 years now and have become very close. It's great having someone you can be comfortable around and someone you can talk to about anything :) everyone needs someone like that in their lives :)

I cannot believe how exhausted I was though! As soon as I had a shower and a bite to eat I crashed! I was asleep for 15 hours! I didn't sleep the whole time, did wake up a few times tossing and turning but still! Could not believe it!

Feb 18th - Op shopping continues!

I've had a bad cold lately so its been plenty of bed rest, cups of lemon & honey tea and chick flicks galore! But now I'm at the tail end of it it's time to head back to work. Whether its a nice holiday or just sick leave its always hard to get back into work as I found today when I wasn't really in the mood to work. Had a good time catching up with the girls though and singing along to the 'Across the Universe' soundtrack as I prepared sandwiches. If you love Beatles music you should definitely check out this musical movie! It's brilliant.
So before work I made sure I left home early so I could go check out the op shop along the way. Along the route 75 tram line is the RSPCA op shop (near stop 66). This store is a hidden gem and I usually find a few bargains when I visit. Today was no exceptions. I found a nice skirt, 2 dresses and surprisingly found the book I was looking for! I went into the shop thinking doubtfully that they wouldn't have it but there it was! It was fate. Can't wait to reread it.

Feb 17th - Room Renovations

So lately I have been a bit of a procrastinator (and it sure does happen to the best of us). My room still looks like a dumping ground which will hopefully be rectified shortly but in the meantime I have been very keen on redecorating! So far I have decorated my wall (seen below) and my door and am very pleased with how it has turned out. My walls were quite bare before so I wanted something but wasn't sure what. When I went past kikki k recently their store display had a string of twine with mini pegs holding photos and other trinkets and I knew that's exactly what I wanted on my wall! The gorgeous Alice in wonderland themed art work was a present for my 21st from my dear friends and is a limited painting by the very talented Jasmine Becket-Griffith. You should definitely check her out! I have my eye on a few more of her pieces. <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">

Feb 16th - Bowling formal style!

So after a nice relaxing day (where I should have been tidying my room and ticking things off my to do list but was actually napping and watching movies in bed) it was my friend Michael's bday party. We went to strike for bowling, pool and some drinks :) it was a lot of fun and we totally looked awesome in our formal dresses and bowling shoes! The others continued on to a nightclub in the city but I went down to bed. Well that was the plan anyways.. Until my housemates decided to feed me a shot of whiskey which then involved me spitting it halfway across the room, racing to the bathroom and my housemates pissing themselves laughing. Ick! Never doing that again!

Feb 15th - Cooking up a storm

Today was a nice relaxing day as I finally break free from my nasty cold! As I enjoyed the rest of my time off work, my housemate and I cooked a nice dinner together :) We made some tacos which were a nice healthy change from the takeaway we've been currently eating and it was nice to cook together too. We definitely need to do it more often! We also both wore our new aprons. I was given mine or Christmas and still hadn't worn it yet. It was too pretty to get dirty!

Feb 14th - Valentines day

I know most people are torn about today. I personally am 50/50. I love romance and yes we should all be romantic all year around, not just on one day, but I still love celebrating valentines day. I am yet to have a valentine of mine so I share the love with my family and friends. I made these adorable cupcakes with my housemate which we took to trivia to share with our friends :) it was definitely fun for everyone :)
